Q&A WITH TG DREAM KITCHENS & BATHROOMS’ GROUP SHOWROOMS MANAGER


More than just a builders’ merchant, TG Dream Kitchens & Bathrooms’ offers design and planning advice for people looking for a new kitchen or bathroom. TG Dream Kitchens & Bathrooms’ busy Group Showroom Manager Chris Prater took time out from talking to customers to chat about the secret of the company’s continued success.

TG is predominantly seen locally as a builders’ merchant, so what do people get from using a company like you as opposed to a conventional kitchen supplier?

A lot of people think we just provide goods for the building trade, but we’ve actually been designing kitchens and bathrooms for over 15 years. We work a lot with local developers designing the kitchens and bathrooms for everything from affordable housing to luxury developments, so we have a huge amount of knowledge and experience that we’re able to share with homeowners as well.

Our customers love the personal touch that we can offer as a local, family-run, independent business, and many of them return to us again and again. Our showroom staff are skilled at helping customers through the design process and customers can be confident that the products they recommend are the right ones for their project. Plus, we’re here to support customers right through to installation – that’s great reassurance for many people who don’t buy new bathrooms and kitchens very often.

What can we expect if we visit a TG Dream Kitchens & Bathrooms’ showroom?

We have over 50 display kitchens and 40 display bathrooms available to view across our 3 Showrooms in Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Northwich. Our Oswestry Showroom has recently gone through a total revamp and has a wide range of contemporary kitchens, traditional kitchens, and options for large and small bathrooms.

All showrooms are equipped with the latest gadgets and design features – and lots of ideas for inspiration. Plus, we have sample options for countertops and flooring so customers can get a real feel for what’s available to their taste and within their budget. At Oswestry we have also just launched a new dedicated Tile Studio, so we really are a one-stop shop for everything you need.

What changes have you and your team seen over the past 12 months?

More than ever before people are wanting to express individuality and have fun with bolder colours in the kitchen, while introducing a sense of calm to their living space. Throughout 2021, we saw increased demand for earthy, rich tones that sought to bring nature into our spaces, whilst we spent more time indoors. However, we are now seeing huge demand for colours reminiscent of the sea, such as airy and fresh tones of bright blues and greens, that encapsulate feelings of optimism and new horizons. This bright hue can be paired with more neutral tones such as wooden counters or if you want a bolder look, pair a bright blue cabinets with a beautiful white countertop for a classic and eye catching colour scheme.

We’re also seeing a huge uptake in our “Buy Now Pay Nothing for 12 Months” finance package. Customers see the real benefit of paying no interest should they repay the agreement in full within the 12 months.
